Similar to Velociraptor mongoliensis , but unlike the condition in Deinonychus antirrhopus , the edges of the antorbital fossa on the maxilla of Tsaagan are all strongly undercut, suggesting the antorbital sinus was fully constrained to the antorbital fossa. The anterior migration of the maxillary fenestra and the presence of an additional fenestra in the antorbital fossa in Tsaagan also suggest the morphology of the diverticula of the antorbital sinus in this taxon was distinctive from that in Deinonychus and Velociraptor . However, the robustly built maxilla of Tsaagan may have supported a dorsoventrally wider antorbital sinus than that of Velociraptor ( Fig. 4A View Figure 4 ).
