Type Locality: Syria, Thafas, 18 km NW Derra (= Der’a).
Vernacular Names: Syrian Calomyscus.
Distribution: SW Syria; limits unknown.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).
Discussion: Described as a subspecies of C. bailwardi , but its small size and short tail clearly distinguish C. tsolovi from any other recognized species; such a possibility was even suggested by Peshev (1991:112). Phylogenetic affinities unstudied.
