Differential diagnosis
Unlike its congeneric species, Agamopus lampros is easily recognizable by its remarkably smooth head, without punctation (see Fig. 5A View Fig ). All other Agamopus species are fully punctate on the head (as in Fig. 5B View Fig ). Males of A. lampros have the posterior edge of the metafemora crenulate, while it is smooth in males of other species of Agamopus . For details, see Halffter & Martinez (1968).

Note
The fixation of the name-bearing type of Agamopus lampros was previously indicated with a label ( Fig. 6B View Fig ) by one of the authors (FZVM). This designation is here formalized according to Art. 11.1 ( ICZN 1999).
