TYPE LOCALITY: Papua New Guinea, Angabunga Range, Owgarra, 6,000 ft (= 1829 m) .

DISTRIBUTION: C and E New Guinea, higher elevations.

STATUS: Common.

SYNONYMS: occidentalis .

COMMENTS: Called P. vestitus by most authors, but see Menzies and Pernetta (1986:594).
