Afr. 8: 472 ( Clarke 1902) ≡ Lipocarpha atra var. barteri (C.B.Clarke) Raynal (1967: 85) , non Cyperus barteri Boeckeler (1868: 460) . Type:— NIGERIA. Nupe, 1857-1859, Barter 1585 (holotype K000416376!, isotypes GH00027890!, LE, P!, S-G-6616!). Description:— Goetghebeur & Van den Borre (1989: 25).
