Type Locality: Brazil, Bahia State, Bahia.
Vernacular Names: Hispid Hocicudo.
Synonyms: Oxymycterus hispidulus (Schinz 1845) .
Distribution: SE Brazil.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: A large-sized species traditionally thought to include judex , misionalis and quaestor as synonyms (Cabrera, 1961; Musser and Carleton, 1993; Reig, 1987); see account of O. quaestor . Emended diagnosis and documentation of geographic range required.
