Hesperocorixa escheri (Heer, 1853)

Distribution in Iran. East Azarbaijan (Nikdel et al. 2011 as Hesperocorixa scabricula (Walley, 1936)) . General distribution. North America ( Canada: Ontario, Manitoba; USA: Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan) (Hungerford 1948).

Comments. Because the general distribution of H. escheri is limited to North America, its presence in Iran is doubtful. Also, A. Matocq as the co-author of the paper Nikdel et al. (2011) did not determine this species (A. Matocq personal communication to P. Moulet). This species is not cited by Jansson (1995).
