East Azarbaijan (Wagner 1961), Golestan, Mazandaran (Heiss 2002), Ilam (Samin et al. 2011), Khorasan (Linnavuori & Modarres Awal 1998), Markazi, West Azarbaijan (Linnavuori 2009), Tehran (Linnavuori & Hosseini 2000; Vinokurov 2004), West Azerbaijan (Sakenin et al. 2010), Iran (no locality cited) (Péricart 1990).

General distribution. Holarctic (incl. Indian subcontinent); in America from Alaska to Panama; probably settled in South America; Oriental and Neotropical Regions (Lindskog 1995; Vinokurov 2004).

Saldula palustris (Douglas, 1874)

Distribution in Iran. Bushehr, Fars (Linnavuori 2009), Ghom (Vinokurov 2004), Guilan (Wagner 1961; Vinokurov 2004), Khuzestan (Seidenstücker 1958; Linnavuori 2009), Sistan & Baluchestan (Hoberlandt 1955), Iran (no locality cited) (Hoberlandt 1961 as S. palustris f. pallidipennis ; Reuter 1888; Péricart 1990; Linnavuori & Hosseini 2000; Linnavuori et al. 2011).

General distribution. Palearctic, Tropical Africa (Lindskog 1995, Vinokurov 2004, Fent et al. 2011; Linnavuori et al. 2011).

Comments. With Juncus sp. ( Juncaceae ), Phragmites sp. ( Poaceae ), and sedges on shores of brooks (Linnavuori 2009).

The forms pallidipennis and mutabilis represent light samples and the variety browni darker ones.

Saldula pilosella pilosella (Thomson, 1871)

General distribution. Euro-Siberian extending to Central Asia and, eastern, to Korea (Lindskog 1995; Vinokurov 2004; Fent et al. 2011).

Saldula xanthochila (Fieber, 1859)

Distribution in Iran. Iran (no locality cited) (Lindskog 1995).

General distribution. China, Euro Siberian, Iraq, Mongolia, Russia, Tadjikistan, Transcaucasia, Turkmenistan.

Comments. This species is not cited from Iran by Péricart (1990) and doubtfully by Lindskog (1995). However it is quoted from several Central Asian countries, and it is not impossible that it is also in Iran.
