Jacaena distincta Thorell, 1897: 231 View in CoL , description of ♀. Deeleman-Reinhold, 2001: 467, figs 775–785.

Type material

Holotype: ♀, Myanmar, Tanintharyi Region, Tenasserim Division , Mt Mooleyit , 1885–1889, L. Fea leg. ( MSNG, examined). Original label: Cadius distinctus Thor., Birmania: Tenasserim, Mooleyit, Fea. For comments on species name and recent redescription of this species see Deeleman-Reinhold (2001: 467).

Remarks

The type species was described based on a single female that closely resembles the female of J. peculiaris sp. nov. ( Figure 2H View Figure 2 ) in general appearance.

Diagnosis

Jacaena distincta can be easily distinguished from its congeners by the widely separated copulatory orifices that are medially situated on the epigynal region, and the poorly defined spermathecae that are not distinctly enlarged ( Figure 15E View Figure 15 ).

Distribution

Known only from the type locality ( Mt Mooleyit , south-eastern Myanmar).
