Diagnosis. This species differs from B. hyrcanicus sp. n. by having a broader cymbium and bulb (length/width ratio ca. 1.3 vs. 2) and the sperm duct reaching the posterior part of the tegulum (cf. figs 3–4 in Yin et al. (1997) and Figs 10A, E ).

Description. See Yin et al. (1997).

Comments. This species is known only from the original description; Song et al. (1999) and Yin et al. (2012) reproduced the original figures. We placed P. daoxianensis in Bosselaerius gen. n. due to the lack of retrolateral apophyses (present in all other Phrurolithidae ) and the lack of a prominent palpal femoral extension, characters shared with the type species of the genus. The sperm duct of this species is found in posterior half of the tegulum (vs. anterior half in Bosselaerius gen. n. and other phrurolithid genera). Because the female is unknown, it is not certain whether an abdominal scutum is present or not.

Distribution. Hunan, southern China.
