Diagnosis: By the molecular data. Cylindrical or semicylindrical colonial externae all connected to a common internal root system; externae produce only one or two broods ( Høeg & Lützen, 1985; Yoshida et al., 2015) and are then replaced by a new generation of externae that do not develop in a one-to-one relationship to the preceding ones.
