Lectotype (Kostermans in Quart. J. Taiwan Mus. 34: 133. 1981): Herb. Hermann 2: 3; 4: 34, No. 183 (BM).

Current name: Syzygium caryophyllatum (L.) Alston View in CoL ( Myrtaceae ).

Note: As the material in Herb. Hermann appears to be part of a single gathering (Art. 9.15), Kostermans is accepted as having typified the name.
