Holotype: ♂. Chile, Prov.LosAndes, Salto del Soldado , 32°55'S y 70°23'W, 2300 msnm, 23 km SE de Los Andes , V Region, J. Solervicens (MNNC). Allotype and 10 paratypes. Allotype and 9 paratypes from the same locality as the holotype. 1 paratype from: Chile, P. N. La Campana, sector Ocoa , V Región , en bosque quemado, 5-XI-1986, C. Vivar. Diagnosis: The elytral white transverse fascia, bordered by intensely black markings, will conveniently diagnose the members of this species.
Description: This species was adequately described and illustrated by SOLERVICENS (1998: 82). Additional characteristics involve: Antenna as in Figs 26, 27 View Figs 1-27 , pronotum as in Fig. 52 View Figs 44-56 , elytral asetiferous punctation striate, epipleural margin not serrulate near elytral apex, habitus as in Fig. 82 View Figs 81-89 , and aedeagus as in Fig. 101. Natural history: Specimens were reared from the stems of the turquoise puya [ Puya berteroniana MAZ. ( Bromeliaceae )].
Distribution ( Fig.71 View Fig 71 ): Known only from Chile.
