Artbeschreibung: Ähnlich wie L. minor , aber Sprosse oft rot überlaufen (besonders am Wurzelansatz), 1,5-4 mm lang, +/- symmetrisch, oberseits auf der Mittellinie mit mehreren gleich grossen Höckern. Im Herbst oft rundliche, ca. 1 mm dicke Ruheknospen (Turionen) auf der Sprossunterseite bildend, die auf den Gewässergrund absinken. Vgl. auch Spirodela (Nr. 2411) .
