Material examined. CHINA, Guizhou: 5♀, 2♂, Qiannan Buyi Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Libo County, Maolan national nature reserve, Yongkang protection station, 107°56′59″- 107°57′45″E, 25°16′56″- 25°18′1″N, a lt. 771–915m, 2018-6-25, leg D.X. Yang, Z.H. Yang and J.M. Yang (GZLM-134) GoogleMaps ; Hunan: 1 ♀(Holotype), Daoxian County, 1987-9- 12, leg L.S. Gong (HC19870912) .
Diagnosis. Clubiona gongi can be distinguished from all other Clubiona species by: the retrolateral tibial apophysis short, almost as long as wide with blunt end in retrolateral view ( Figs 3A View FIGURE 3 , 4B View FIGURE 4 ); embolus curved, its main portion extending horizontally at the apex of palp bulb in ventral view ( Figs 3C View FIGURE 3 , 4C, 4D View FIGURE 4 ).
Description: Male (GZLM-134): Total length 5.09. Carapace 2.46 long, 1.67 wide; abdomen 2.63 long, 1.28 wide. Carapace yellow, fovea, cervical and radial grooves distinct ( Fig. 2B View FIGURE 2 ). Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.12, ALE 0.16, PME 0.13, PLE 0.15; AME-AME 0.07, AME-ALE 0.08, PME-PME 0.27, PME-PLE 0.17, ALE-PLE 0.07. MOA long 0.34, front width 0.36, back width 0.52. Clypeus height 0.04. Chelicerae dark brown, with 6 promarginal and 4 ret- romarginal teeth. Pairs of ventral spines: Tibia I 2; Metatarsus I 1; Tibia II 2; Metatarsus II 1. Leg measurements: I 6.91 (1.84, 2.73, 1.36, 0.98); II 6.92 (1.95, 2.83, 1.32, 0.82); III 4.89 (1.53, 1.81, 1.18, 0.37); IV 7.36 (2.07, 2.29, 2.25, 0.75). Leg formula IV-II-I-III. Abdomen yellowish-brown. Male palp ( Figs 3A, B, C View FIGURE 3 , 4A, 4B, C, D View FIGURE 4 ). Patella ventrally with a small finger-like apophysis. Tibia with tongue-shaped retrolateral tibial apophysis slightly curved with blunt end in dorsal view ( Figs 2F View FIGURE 2 , 3B View FIGURE 3 , 4B View FIGURE 4 ). Sperm duct obvious, curved back and forth before entering the embolus in ventral view. Embolus curved, its main portion extending horizontally at the apex of palpal bulb in ventral view ( Figs 3C View FIGURE 3 ; 4C, D View FIGURE 4 ).
Female (holotype HC19870912, GZLM-134). Total length 5.48. Carapace 2.47 long, 1.69 wide; abdomen 3.01 long, 1.51 wide. Carapace yellow. Fovea, cervical and radial grooves distinct ( Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ). Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.12, ALE 0.13, PME 0.12, PLE 0.13; AME-AME 0.10, AME-ALE 0.09, PME-PME 0.36, PME-PLE 0.19, ALE- PLE 0.08. MOA long 0.35, front width 0.39, back width 0.62. Clypeus 0.05. Chelicerae dark brown, with 3 promarginal and 2 retromarginal teeth. Pairs of ventral spines: Tibia I 2; Metatarsus I 1; Tibia II 2; Metatarsus II 1. Leg measurements: I 4.98 (1.44, 2.04, 0.93, 0.57); II 5.28 (1.57, 2.20, 0.94, 0.57); III 4.16 (1.36, 1.58, 0.88, 0.34); IV 6.55 (1.90, 2.28, 1.76, 0.61). Leg formula IV-II-I-III. Epigyne ( Figs 1B, C View FIGURE 1 , 2C, D View FIGURE 2 ) with a large semicircular copulatory opening posteriorly. Copulatory ducts long with two curved loops. Bursa long bar-shaped, anteriorly located. Spermathecae elliptical, located dorso-meisally and slightly overlapping each other. Fertilization ducts short.
