Note: In Plantae Surinamenses (1775), Unxia was given no separate generic description and U. camphorata is therefore invalid. Unxia L. f, and its type U. camphorata L. f. were validly published only in Suppl. Pl.: 56, 368 (1782), as noted by Stuessy (in Brittonia 21: 316. 1969).
