Velia (Plesiovelia) affinis filippii Tamanini, 1947 View in CoL
( Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1 A, 2A)
Published record. Velia affinis: Davideanu et al. (2000) .
Material examined. ROMANIA: Tulcea county: Greci [intermittent stream], 45°12ʹ21ʺN 28°15ʹ05ʺE, 137 m a.s.l., 28. iv.2012, 1 ♂ (ma) 1 ♀ (ap); Luncavița [stream], 45°13ʹ37ʺN 28°18ʹ38ʺE, 103 m a.s.l., 3. viii.2011, 12 ♂♂ (ap) 13 ♀♀ (ap); Nifon [stream], 45°09ʹ19ʺN 28°23ʹ55ʺE, 120 m a.s.l., 3. viii.2011, 5 ♂♂ (ap) 3 ♀♀ (ap).
Remarks. There were two previous records, dating back to August, 1972 (Murighiol) and July, 1985 (Caraorman), both in Tulcea county ( Davideanu et al. 2000). According to our data, it looks as if Velia affinis filippii occurs only in south-eastern Romania, in Dobrogea. Here, the higher altitudes do not exceed 467 m a.s.l. We collected it from shaded streams, at altitudes ranging between 100 and 140 m a.s.l. ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 ).
General distribution. Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, European Turkey, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and north-eastern Italy ( Tamanini 1951; Benedek 1969, 1970; Josifov 1986; Andersen 1995; Protić & Živić 2007; Kment & Beran 2011; Protić 2011; Šeat 2013; this paper). The record of V. affinis filippii from Hungary is based on a single old record by Benedek (1970); however, the identification was recently confirmed as correct ( Boda et al. 2015).
