Chalcis Fabricius, 1787 View in CoL View at ENA
The genus Chalcis currently consists of over 60 known species but only 24 are valid when excluding those actually belonging to Brachymeria and the Palaearctic species for which the types could not be traced (GD, personal observation). However, only four valid species are known from the Palaearctic region. Two species, namely C. biguttata Spinola, 1808 and C. sispes L. have already been reported from Iran (Lotfalizadeh et al. 2012; Tavakoli Roodi et al. 2016).
