In Macau, adults have so far been recorded only in late spring and range in total length 10-12 mm and 3-4.5 mm in maximum width. In nearby Hong Kong, however, they have been observed throughout the summer and there larval food plants include Cucurbita moschata , Benincasa hispida , Luffa acutangula and Lagenaria siceraria ( Yiu 2009). Elsewhere, larvae have also been found boring into stems of Coccinia indica , Luffa aegyptiaca and Trichosanthes cucumerina ( Beeson 1941; Nair 1975; David and Ramamurthy 2012; Kumawat et al. 2015).
