Type Locality: Venezuela, Sucre State, 15 mi ( 24 km) W Cumanacoa, headwaters of Río Neverí, 2400 ft ( 732 m).

Vernacular Names: Venezuelan Ichthyomyine.

Distribution: E and S Venezuela, Guyana.

Conservation: IUCN – Endangered.

Discussion: Type species of Daptomys , considered a junior synonym of Neusticomys by Voss (1988).
