LEPTOSCIARELLA View in CoL View at ENA ( LEPTOSCIARELLA ) NIGROSETOSA
( FREEMAN, 1990) RESTIT.
Synonym: truncatula Mohrig & Menzel, 1997 syn. nov.
Literature: Freeman (1990): 54; Laurence (1997a): 85 [all as Corynoptera ]; Mohrig & Menzel (1997): 80; Menzel (1998): 22 [all as Leptosciarella truncata , misidentification and incorrectly synonymized from Leptosciarella nigrosetosa to Leptosciarella truncata ].
Material examined: Bradfield Wood , Suffolk, 3 males, 23.v.−30.v.1991, Laurence leg. ( PBLN). Monk’s Wood, Cambridgeshire, 1 male, 18.vi.1978, J.H. Cole leg. [holotype of Corynoptera nigrosetosa ] ( BMNH) .
Ecological notes: found in broad-leaved woodland; ancient woodland on clay. v–vi.
Taxonomic note: Mohrig & Menzel (1997) incorrectly synonymized Corynoptera nigrosetosa Freeman with Leptosciarella truncata (Tuomikoski) . Corynoptera nigrosetosa Freeman is identical to Leptosciarella truncatula Mohrig & Menzel. The result of the comparison of the types for this Leptosciarella -species is that ‘ nigrosetosa ( Freeman, 1990) ’ is the correct name and ‘ truncatula Mohrig & Menzel, 1997 ’ will be a synonym of nigrosetosa (Freeman) .
