Record from Myanmar: Great Cocos Island, Andamans ( Pocock 1895). Based on an indefinite number of syntypes, including at least one male ( Pocock 1895), deposited in the London Museum.

Remark. Also found in Hawaii ( Chamberlin 1923, 1941), the Seychelles ( Mauriès 1980; Golovatch and Korsós 1992; Golovatch and Gerlach 2010), Sri Lanka ( Ceylon) ( Attems 1936), China ( Zhang 1986; Liu et al. 2014), Thailand ( Golovatch and Enghoff 1994; Enghoff 2005; Decker 2010), Java, Indonesia ( Chamberlin 1923) and Fiji ( Shelley and Lehtinen 1998).

This species is a pantropical anthropochore ( Golovatch and Korsós 1992), likely native to Myanmar or the Malay Peninsula ( Shelley and Lehtinen 1998).
