Morphological data.

This species keys to Y. vilawanae in the key of Areekul and Quicke (2006). Yelicones vilawanae has the apical 0.2 of hind tarsus and apical 0.8 of hind basitarsus brown. Yelicones mayrabonillae has the basal four hind tarsomeres brown and the apical tarsomere yellow. This species can be morphologically distinguished from its nearest neighbor, Yelicones artitus , by the color of the hind femur being entirely testaceous (Fig. 38 View Figure 38 ) (apical.04 brown in Y. artitus ).

Etymology.

Yelicones mayrabonillae is named in honor of Mayra Bonilla as the primary supporter of the BioAlfa Malaise trapping at the Hacienda Baru Wildlife Refuge, Savegre, ACOPAC, Costa Rica, as well as decades of support for the Area de Conservación Guanacaste.
