“Habitat in Brasilia.” RCN: 7664.

Lectotype (Brenan in Kew Bull. 10: 185. 1955): Herb. Clifford: 208, Mimosa 3, excl. inflorescences (BM-000628752).

Generitype of Mimosa Linnaeus (vide Green, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 162. 1929).

Note: Mimosa sensitiva was treated as the generitype by Britton & Wilson ( Scient. Surv. Porto Rico 5: 357. 1924; see McNeill & al. in Taxon 36: 378. 1987). However, under Art. 10.5, Ex. 7 (a voted example) of the Vienna Code, this is a type choice made under the American Code and is to be replaced under Art. 10.5b by Green’s choice ( Prop. Brit.
