( Scabiosa succisa L. ).

Glabrous to pubescent, with ascending to erect stems up to 100 cm. Basal leaves 5-30 cm, narrowly obovate to narrowly elliptical, entire or rarely slightly dentate. Capitula gynodioecious, the hermaphrodite up to 3 cm in diameter, terminal, the female smaller. Corolla 4-7 mm, lilac to dark violet-blue, rarely white or pinkish. Fruit c. 5 mm. 2л = 20. Most ofEurope except for the extreme north and parts of the Mediterranean region. All except Az BI Co Cr Rs (K) Sa Sb Si Tu.
