Annual. Stems 8-20 cm, slightly puberulent-scabrid. Leaves 10-25 x 1-4 mm, in whorls of 4-6, the lowermost obovateelliptical, the upper lanceolate to linear, with revolute margins. Spike 2-8 cm x 2-3 mm, rather dense; internodes not more than 2-5 mm; bracts 5-8 x 2-3 mm, ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, loosely appressed, their base neither inflated nor with enlarged epidermal cells, free; bracteoles linear, much narrower and shorter than bracts; flowers sessile. Corolla 3-4-5xc. 0-6mm, 4-lobed, yellowish, scarcely exceeding the bract. Kriti. Cr. (Anatolia, Syria)
