Like 18 but leaf-lobes oblong-elliptical to broadly lanceolate, more or less obtuse; involucre lanate-fioccose (rarely subglabrous); middle bracts with patent marginal spines up to 1 -2 mm and rhombic to elliptical appendage 1 - 5-3-5 mm wide, with apical spine 1-4 mm. • S. & E.
