Like subsp. (b) but lower leaves lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate; appendages not completely covering bracts; fimbriae as long as or slightly longer than width of appendage, 10-12 on each side; outer florets somewhat radiate. 2n = 22. N. & C.Portugal.
