Lectotype (designated here by Galbany-Casals, Sáez & Benedí): Herb. Linn. No. 989.36 (LINN).

Current name: Helichrysum arenarium (L.) Moench ( Asteraceae ).

Note: Hilliard & Burtt (in Notes Roy. Bot. Gard. Edinburgh 32: 344. 1973) said that the type was “probably” 989.36 (LINN) and later (in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 82: 239. 1981) noted the existence of this material. The latter statement was misinterpreted by Galbany-Casals & al. (in Taxon 55: 491. 2006) as a formal typification but no formal type choice had then been made. This is rectified here.
