Remarks. This species was described based on specimens from Brazil (Mato Grosso). The holotype and the paratype are from Rio Verde. Currently, this city is in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul (see remarks in Eburodacrys rubicunda ). Therefore, the state of the type locality needs to be corrected. Lane & Martins (1965) described Coccoderus spinosus from Brazil. The type locality is Centralina. The list of type specimens is confusing, but it is evident that Centralina was indicated as being in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, and not in Mato Grosso as in Monné (2023a) and Tavakilian & Chevillotte (2023). Martins & Monné (1980) synonymized C. spinosus with C. longespinicornis . Bezark (2023b), Monné (2023a), and Tavakilian & Chevillotte (2023) listed this species from Venezuela, Colombia, French Guiana, Peru, Brazil (Amapá, Amazonas, Pará, Acre, Rondônia, Maranh„o, Mato Grosso, Goiás, Distrito Federal, Mato Grosso do Sul, Piauí, and Minas Gerais), and Paraguay.
