Remarks. This species was described based on males and females from Brazil (Mato Grosso). The holotype is from the city of Rio Verde. In 1963, “Rio Verde de Mato Grosso ” was a city in the state of MT (since the division of states only occurred in the 1970s). However, nobody called the city by its full name and they just said Rio Verde, MT. The city with the name “Rio Verde” in MT (post division) has been called “Lucas do Rio Verde” since the beginning and had this name only in the 1980s. Before that, the region was practically made up of farms and was called “Piavoré” (Prefeitura de Lucas de Rio Verde 2023). Based on this information, we are comfortable stating that the type locality of this species is Rio Verde de Mato Grosso in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul.
One of the paratypes is from Coxim, a city that is currently in Mato Grosso do Sul. Another paratype from Chavantina, collected in 1946, may also be from Mato Grosso do Sul. On that date, Chavantina was a district of the city of Três Lagoas, formerly called Santa Rita do Rio Pardo and it was a district of Campo Grande; after belonging to Três Lagoas, it became a district of Brasilândia under the name Xavantina, then, emancipated, it became Presidente Tancredo and after Santa Rita do Pardo ( MVFMM 2023). In Mato Grosso, there was a city with a similar name, Xavantina. However, in 1946 the name of this city was already written with “X” and not “Ch” (in Portuguese the sound is the same). From 1980, Xavantina in Mato Grosso is called Nova Xavantina. Bezark (2023b), Monné (2023a), and Tavakilian and Chevillotte (2022) listed this species from Brazil (Goiás and Mato Grosso).
