Chrysanthemum vestitum (Hemsley) Stapf View in CoL

Lectotype (designated here): — CHINA. Hubei, September 1886, A. Henry, 1115 (K! bar code: K000891712) ; Isolectotype: 1115 (K! bar code number: K000891713)

Note: Tukey’s test was performed on the T-shaped trichome and gland data between Chrysanthemum bizarre , C. vestitum var. vestitum , and C. vestitum var. latifolium . ***P<0.01. Mean ± S.E. is an average.

During the examination of our specimens, we discovered that the holotype of C. vestitum Hemsley had not been designated. We found that Hemsley described C. vestitum as a variant of C. sinense Sabine ( Blackwell & Hemsley, 1888), and later Stapf treated it as an independent species. Two specimens (1115 and 3102) were cited, but the author did not designate a holotype. According to the International Code of Nomenclature for Algae, Fungi, and Plants (9.12), we designated 1115 (bar code: K000891712) as a lectotype of Chrysanthemum vestitum (Hemsley) Stapf owing to its common habitat with the two specimens that best represent C. vestitum .
