DERIVATION OF NAME. — A combination of Laura, the name of the former colliery at Eygelshoven, and the Latin word for forceps alluding to the shape of the anal region.

TYPE SPECIES. — Lauravolsella willemeni n. gen., n. sp.

DIAGNOSIS. — As for the type species as it is monotypic.
