Geographic Location and Habitats: BC: Sicamous Creek ( Berch et al. 2007); NS: Southwest Nova Scotia Uplands; from apple orchards (Rasmy & McPhee 1970); Introduction to USA from Canada ( Hammer 1969; as Humerobates fungorum ).

Distribution: Semicosmopolitan.

Remarks: The identity of Linnaeus’ Acarus fungorum is uncertain and it is likely that Hammer’s (1969) record of Humerobates fungorum actually refers to Humerobates rostrolamellatus Grandjean, 1936 according to Marshall et al. (1987).
