Mogurnda oligolepis Allen and Jenkins View in CoL
Kimberley Mogurnda
Mogurnda oligolepis has been identified from the Fitzroy, Isdell, Charnley, Prince Regent, Roe, Mitchell (see M. mogurnda ), King Edward, Carson, Drysdale, King George and Berkely Rivers ( Fig. 48). Allen and Leggett (1990) list M. mogurnda from a number of other systems, and many of these specimens, in particular those from the Robinson (Keightly), Meda, Calder, Charnley, King Edward, Carson, Drysdale and King George Rivers, may well be M. oligolepis . These specimens are housed in the Queensland Museum and require further examination. While the species is considerably more widespread and more commonly encountered within the Kimberley than M. mogurnda , it is generally only captured in low numbers, its range now being confined to rivers of the Kimberley between the Fitzroy River in the south and the Berkeley in the north.
