Subgenus Xenochara View in CoL MULSANT & REY, 1874
Xenochara View in CoL is the most speciose of all the subgenera recorded from the Palaearctic region. This subgenus includes several species groups associated with subterranean burrows of mammals and other nests. Species of other groups are generally found in dung, mushrooms, or other habitats.
