Tetragonoschema (Patagoschema) torresi Cobos, 1959 View in CoL
( Figs. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 9 , 58 View FIGURES 55 – 63. 55 – 57 , 73 View FIGURES 72 – 81 )
Tetragonoschema torresi Cobos, 1959: 11 View in CoL . Type locality: Argentina, Camino de Nahuel Huapí near Lago Posadas, south of Neuquén.
Tetragonoschema torresi: Bellamy, 2008: 1521 View in CoL (catalogue).
Type specimens studied. Holotype ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 9 ), (male, MLPA): “ N.[ahuel] Huapi hasta Lago Posadas C. Bruch leg. [h] // Holotipo [red, p] // Tetragonoschema torresi nov. sp. holotipo [h] A. Cobos det. 1.956 [p] // 357 [h, rounded]” ; allotype (female, MLPA): “N. Huapi hasta Lago Posadas, C. Bruch leg. [h] // Allotipo [red, p] // Tetragonoschema taorresi nov. sp. allotipo [h] A. Cobos det. 1.956 [p]”.
Diagnosis. Very similar and probably closely related to the previous species. They differ from each other in the shape of pronotum, size, length of frontal pubescence (see above and the key) and slightly in the shape of male genitalia—Figs. 72 vs. 73.
Length: 3.5–4.0 mm.
Bionomy. Unknown..
Sexual dimorphism. The female allotype differs from the male holotype only in the more intense red-violet lustre of the frons.
Distribution. Argentina, prov. Neuquén.
Note. The aedeagus of the holotype is slightly damaged—terminal tips of parameres and median lobe are missing; this fact is mentioned also in the description ( Cobos, 1959) and this was the reason why the aedeagus was not illustrated. In spite of this damage the general shape of the aedeagus is quite distinct—Fig. 73. The right elytron of the allotype is missing.
