Elytra with anterior margin feebly bisinuate, lateral margins subparallel in anterior half, in posterior half converging to rounded, projected apex; elytral intervals glabrous, flat, fifth and seventh intervals bear carina formed by row of granules, inner carina longer than outer.

Prosternum wide, granulate; prosternal process wider than half of prosternal anterior margin.

Abdomen microgranulate with fine, small setae on lateral areas posterior margins of ventrites strongly arcuate.

Legs: coxae, trochanters, femora and tibiae with fine, small and sparse setae; fore tibiae with distal fringe of tomentum on anterior face and subapical spine antero-ventrally; middle tibiae with fringe of tomentum on anterior and posterior face, latter longer than former; hind tibiae with a fringe of tomentum on posterior face, on apical 2/3; Fore tarsi with tufts of fine and long setae on ventral face of tarsomeres 1–4, less conspicuous on tarsomere 4; middle and hind tarsi with fine, short setae on ventral face, less conspicuous in tarsomere 5.

Male genitalia with median lobe very wide in basal 4/5, apical 1/5 converging to subacute apex; parameres short, about 2/3 length of median lobe.

The single record of this species was in the type-locality “ Brésil, Theresopolis” (Grouvelle 1888) with the additional information “Theresopolis, Santa Catharina, Brazil ” ( Hinton 1946).
