Distribution outside Thailand: India ( Meyrick 1909), Indonesia ( Meyrick 1911), China ( Meyrick 1931), Hawaii, Indonesia, Japan, Madeira, Philippine Is., and Sri Lanka ( Diakonoff 1956, 1964; Robinson et al. 1994), Pakistan ( Diakonoff 1959a), Egypt ( Gozmany 1960), Australia ( Horak 2006), Turkey ( Efil et al. 2012), Japan ( Nasu & Komai 2013), Vietnam ( Nedoshivina 2013), Korea ( Sohn et al. 2015), Italy ( Trematerra et al. 2018), and Chile ( Vargas & Vargas-Ortiz 2019).
Distribution in Thailand: C–– Bangkok Prov., Nakhon Nayok Prov. (Khao Yai N.P.), Saraburi Prov. (Namtok Samlan N.P.) and Uthai Thani Prov. (Huai Kha Khaeng W.S.), E–– Chanthaburi Prov. (Ang-et Community Forest, Khao Khitchakut N.P., Khao Soi Dao W.S., and Phlio Waterfall N.P.), N–– Chiang Mai Prov. (Doi Chiang Dao W.S., Doi Inthanon N.P., Fang, and Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden,), NE–– Chaiyaphum Prov. (Phu Khieo W.S.), Loei Prov. (Phu Luang W.S.) and Nakhon Ratchasima Prov. (Sakaerat Environmental R.St.), S–– Nakhon Si Thammarat Prov. (Khao Nan N.P.), and W–– Kanchanaburi Prov. (Ban Wang Sing Community Forest, Erawan N.P., and Thong Pha Phum N.P.), ( Diakonoff 1959a; Kawabe 1989; KKIC).
Host plants: Unknown in Thailand. Caterpillars feed on Cyperaceae : Cyperus rotundus , C. corymbosus var. subnodosus , Kyllinga brevifolia , and K. macrocephala and Poaceae : Saccharum officinarum ( Diakonoff 1956; Efil et al. 2012; Vargas & Vargas-Ortiz 2019; Robinson et al. 2023).
Remarks: Specimens from Thailand were collected in recovered forest of old para-rubber plantation, moist evergreen forest, mixed deciduous forest, dry evergreen forest, and hill evergreen forest at 33– 1,300 m. Diakonoff (1959a) did not mention about habitat and elevation. Robinson et al. (1994) also reported this species from Thailand but did not mention about province, location, and elevation.
