Platypeplus erotias Meyrick, 1905 , J. Bombay Nat. Hist. Soc. 16: 584. Type locality: Sri Lanka, Ceylon [Sri Lanka] ( Peradeniya ). Lectotype ( ♂): NHM .

Argyroploce erotias ( Meyrick, 1905) : Meyrick, 1911, Proc. Linn. Soc. N.S.W. 36: 269.

Olethreutes erotias ( Meyrick, 1905) : Clarke, 1958, British Museum ( Natural History) 3: 507, pl. 252, Figs. 4–4b (wing, ♂ genitalia, abdomen).

Gatesclarkeana erotias ( Meyrick, 1905) : Diakonoff, 1966, Zool. Verh. Leiden 85: 50.

Distribution outside Thailand: India and Sri Lanka ( Meyrick 1905), New Guinea and Timor ( Meyrick 1911), and Vietnam ( Nedoshivina 2013).

Distribution in Thailand: S–– Krabi Prov. ( Diakonoff 1971, 1973).

Host plants: Unknown in Thailand. Caterpillars feed on Anacardiaceae : Mangifera indica , Boraginaceae : Cynoglossum sp. , Euphorbiaceae : Mallotus repandus , Fabaceae : Bauhinia purpurea , Loranthaceae : Loranthus sp. , Myrtaceae : Eugenia sp. , Oxalidaceae : Averrhoa carambola , Rutaceae : Citus sp., Sapindaceae : Litchi chinensis , Sapindus mukorossi , Sapotaceae : Manilkara zapota , Stericulaceae: Gauzuma tomentosa , Theaceae : Camellia sinensis , and Verbenaceae : Lantana camara ( Fletcher 1921; Diakonoff 1971, 1982; Brown et al. 2008; Robinson et al. 2023).

Remarks: Diakonoff (1971, 1973) did not mention about the forest type and elevation.
