Coeleumenes van der Vecht 1963: 45 –46 View in CoL ; Carpenter 1986: 67. Type species: Montezumia impavida Bingham, 1897 , by original designation.
Diagnosis. Mandibles longer than length of clypeus, distinctly cross each other. Clypeus usually wider than long, emarginate apically ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 1 – 12 ). Female with two cephalic foveae present in depression on vertex. Vertex not sloping behind lateral ocelli. Thorax globular, distinctly longer than high. Pronotal carina complete. Notauli absent ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 25 – 30 ). Mesepisternum with epicnemial carina present ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 13 – 18 ). Pretegular carina present. Tegula elongate, emarginate posteriorly, surpass apex of parategula. Axillary fossa narrow. Metanotum oblique, not dentiform. Propodeum with no dorsal surface behind metanotum, sloping posteriorly. Median carina arises from a fovea or longitudinal slit on anterior portion of propodeum. Propodeal orifice wide dorsally. Submarginal carina not projected as pointed/rounded process above valvula. Propodeal vuvlula not free from submarginal carina. Propodeum with a translucent area above posterio-lateral cavity. Metasoma petiolate, gradually widening from base to apex, without basal transverse carina ( Fig. 78 View FIGURES 74 – 78 ). S1 visible where lateral margins not meeting ventrally, its surface regularly transversely striate ( Fig. 71 View FIGURES 64 – 73 ). Mid tibia with one apical spur. Fore wing with prestigma equal to half length of pterostigma ( Fig. 57 View FIGURES 55 – 63 ). Ƌ: F11 hook like, rounded apically; F10 shorter than F9; apical flagellomeres without cavity on inner margin. Body length usually 15–20 mm.
