Diagnosis.
The M. dotatus species group is attributed to the subgenus Macrolycus Cerceros because of its absence of lateral lobes in male genitalia, and it differs from other species groups by the characteristic shape of the apex of the median lobe, which bears a ventrally curved process ( Li et al. 2015).
