Vernacular Names: Fraternal Fruit-eating Bat.
Distribution: Ecuador, Peru.
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Vulnerable.
Discussion: Subgenus Artibeus . Considered a subspecies of jamaicensis by Jones and Carter (1976), but see Koopman (1978 b) and Marques-Aguiar (1994).
