TRICHADENOTECNUM SYLVATICUM TURNER View in CoL
Trichadenotecnum sylvaticum Turner, 1975: 597 View in CoL .
Specimens not examined: Judging from the original description and illustrations, the forewing of this Jamaican species is superficially similar to that of Trichadenotecnum spp. View in CoL in having dense spots. However, wing venation of this species lacks an important apomorphic feature of the genus: the triangular areola postica. Genital structure of this species seems far distant from the other species of the genus, too. Therefore, it is very likely that it does not belong in Trichadenotecnum View in CoL . It is difficult to decide its appropriate systematic position based only on the original description and illustrations. Therefore, we postpone making a nomenclature change for the species, but its systematic position must be revised in the future.
Distribution: Jamaica.
