Aegiptophorus shibinensis Sevastianov and Abo-Korah, 1984, p. 1798 , Figs 1 (1-8).

Heteropygmephorus onthophagi Kurosa, 2002: p. 30 , Figs 1–5 .

This species was described from soil in Egypt ( Sevasianov & Abo-Korah 1984). Later on, Kurosa (2002) recorded it in Japan phoretic on five species of dung beetles of the genus Onthophagus .

This is the first record of this species from Sri Lanka and on beetles of the subfamily Orphninae .

Material examined. SRI LANKA: 2 females on Orphnus mysoriensis, Kala Oya , 7.II.1983 .
