Type Locality: Nigeria, Abo (lower Niger River).
Vernacular Names: Abo Butterfly Bat.
Synonyms: Glauconycteris kraussii Peters 1868 .
Distribution: Senegal to Uganda; Bioko ( Equatorial Guinea); Cameroon.
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (nt) as Chalinolobus poensis .
Discussion: Distinct from beatrix and humeralis ; see Heller et al. (1994).
