Pseudosemiris atavia Assing View in CoL ( Figs. 1–4 View FIGURES 1 – 4 )

Additional material examined. Turkey: 1ɗ, Mersin, Çaml₁yayla, 10.V.–3.VI.1963, leg. Schubert (cAss); 1Ψ, same data, but 1800 m, V.1963 ( NHMW); 1Ψ, Adana, 6 km NE Osmaniye, 37°06´40N, 36°18´46E, 130 m, river bank, 10.IV.2004, leg. Assing & Schülke (cAss).

Remarks. Previously, only the female holotype of this species was known. With a male ( Figs. 1–2 View FIGURES 1 – 4 ) now available, its primary and secondary sexual characters are described: posterior margin of abdominal tergite VIII projecting posteriad, in the middle with two notches ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 4 ); sternite VIII posteriorly obtusely pointed; median lobe of aedeagus as in Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 4 .

There is some doubt that the female from Adana really belongs to this species. It is distinguished from the material collected at the type locality (Çaml₁yayla) by a darker forebody and antennae, by a distinctly weaker microsculpture of the forebody, a weaker pronotal impression, and by a slightly more massive capsule of the spermatheca. Males are required to confirm the present identification.
