Trisodontophyes Enslin, 1911: 666 . Type species: Trisodontophyes nigroflava Enslin, 1911 , by original designation.
Remarks. Trisodontophyes are readily separated from other African Blennocampinae by their tridentate claws. Together with Distega, the endemic genus Trisodontophyes is one of the most species rich genera of Afrotropical Blennocampinae . Taeger et al. (2010) listed 21 valid extant species. The genus was revised by Koch (2001).
