Polypodium leptophyllum Linnaeus , Species Plantarum 2: 1092. 1753.
"Habitat in Hispania, Lusitania, Galloprovincia." RCN: 7908.
Lectotype (Morton in Amer. Fern J. 60: 103. 1970): Herb. Linn. No. 1251.56 ( LINN) .
Current name: Anogramma leptophylla (L.) Link ( Pteridaceae ).
Note: Pichi Sermolli (in Webbia 21: 497. 1966) provided an extensive discussion of the original elements for this name but opted to interpret it via Magnol’s synonym, and designated a Tournefort specimen, not seen by Linnaeus, as the lectotype. With the existence of original material, the latter cannot be accepted as a neotype, and Morton’s subsequent choice of type stands.
