gen. nov.

Paracaridilophus gen. nov.

Type species. Paracaridilophus retusus sp. nov.

Diagnosis. Body fusiform; prodorsal shield with broad frontal lobe, scapular tubercles and setae (sc) ahead of rear prodorsal shield margin, scapular tubercles large, scapular setae projecting posterior and centrad; coxal plates with three pairs of setae; legs with usual series of setae; opisthosoma with a wide dorsal furrow and differentiated by broad dorsal annuli and narrow ventral annuli, opisthosoma with usual series of setae except setae h1 absent, dorsal and ventral view of opisthosoma after seta f abruptly narrow, tail-like; empodium entire; female genital coverflap appressed to coxal plates.

Etymology. The genus designation is derived from the combination of Para - (means beside, alongside) and Acaridilophus Wei, Wang & Li (Wei, Wang, Li & Ou 2009), to which the new genus is the most similar, masculine in gender.

Notes. The new genus is assigned to Eriophyoidea , Eriophyidae , Cecidophyinae , Colomerini . The new genus is similar to Acaridilophus Wei, Wang & Li, 2009, but can be differentiated from the latter by scapular seta ahead of rear shield margin (scapular seta on rear shield margin in Acaridilophus), frontal lobe broad and not emarginate (frontal lobe emarginated in Acaridilophus), dorsal and ventral view of opisthosoma after seta f abruptly narrow, tail-like (dorsal and ventral view of opisthosoma after seta f normal in Acaridilophus). The new genus is also similar to Esalquia Flechtmann, 2002 , but can be differentiated from the latter by having entire empodia (the empodia are divided in Esalquia ), dorsal and ventral view of opisthosoma abruptly narrow and tail-like after seta f (dorsal and ventral view of opisthosoma after seta f, normal in Esalquia ).
